The Psephoderma is quite small compared to other placodonts, growing up to only 5 1/2 feet in length!
Did you know that Psephoderma means ‘pebbly skin’? It gets its name from the pebbly surface of its shell!
Resembling a turtle with a long tail, the Psephoderma has a segmented shell like a horseshoe crab.
Feeding primarily on shellfish, the Psephoderma has a beak-shaped mouth, allowing it to pick its prey from between rocks.
