The Tylosaurus, meaning 'knob lizard', is named for its elongated, cylindrical snout, which it uses to ram prey.

An apex predator, the Tylosaurus has been known to feed on other mosasaurs and sharks to maintain its ecosystem!

Viewed from the side, Tylosaurus was a big animal. But viewed from the front, it would have presented a very small cross-section.

With over eighty vertebrae in its tail, the Tylosaurus, like other mosasaurs, relies on its tail for locomotion!
